CAB Outreach Programme

The One World Foundation (OWF), a free education unit in Ahungalla, and the Vienna-based foundation ‘Paint for Life’ have been conducting photography workshops over the last three years as part of the school’s educational programme. This workshop is now becoming part of the reachout programme of the Colombo Art Biennale 2012. Photography students will visit the Biennale to take photographs of the event and works on display. These photographs will then be presented in the
course of an exhibition later on at the OWF compound.

The trainers Laurent Ziegler and Patrizia Gapp encourage students to get actively involved in the process of work and to carry out individual projects with responsibility and clear structures. The aim is to make students aware of their creative talents and potential. For Laurent and Patrizia, awareness is about the way we perceive moments, places and ultimately light, how far we are willing to take in information, to capture and to share. Photography certainly is a powerful media to bring visions across.

The photography workshop is designed and the equipment generously financed by Paint for Life.
