Pradeep Chandrasiri

“A Table and Four Chairs” is an installation inspired by the current social – political situation. Symbolic of the glamour of extreme nationalistic agenda of the future. The table and chairs depicts a discussion – the process of any changes.

Pradeep Chandrasiri aspired to be an artist from his teenage years. Pradeep has a BFA in Painting and Sculpture from the Institute of Aesthetic Studies, University of Kelaniya. He has held exhibitions of his work in Sri Lanka, Australia, Maldives, India, Pakistan, Sweden , Japan and the UK. In the year 2000, he founded ‘Theertha’ to engage art through discussions, thoughts, agreements and disagreements. In his view, art is a struggle, engaging and confronting society.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
