From Kelaniya,  Isuru first began delving into the expanse of sonic artistry and music at the age of 13. From his early days creating original music with computer software, Isuru’s interest later deepened towards the recondite nature of sound experience, acoustic potential and expanding perception of listening.

Although initially working in isolation and largely self-educated, collaborations with theatre and dance groups led his later work to side with the Chamber music society of Colombo: Terry Riley’s In C with live sound manipulation/ Improvisation at Colomboscope 2014.

Other notable collaborations include: Theertha performance platform 2015 sound performance; ‘When Cage Birds Sings’ by Gayathri Kemadas; ‘Dancing in the Dark’ by Venuri Perera; Isaac Smith, to name a few.

He has also showcased his work at Colomboscope 2015, Norient: Seismographic Sounds in Germany 2015 mixtape of Sri Lankan contemporary music; Down Town Pulse: 2012, 2014, 2016.

Being a part of the Sri Lankan underground art scene as an experimental musician, visual/ sonic and sound artist, Isuru has also done several sound performances. He is currently a part of the Music Matters collective and is co-organizing the Music Matters festival which presents non mainstream/experimental music in Colombo.
