The flash drum (usually used in Vesak Pandals) makes a friction when it is rolled along electrical lines creating sparks. This friction illuminates a series of red and yellow bulbs. The installation is a symbol of the current developments of the social and political culture in Sri Lanka.

Thisath is a self taught artist coming from the historical city of Kandy. He received his initial training at the Vibhavi Academy of Fine Art. He is currently based in Colombo and works as a full time professional artist. Hes art practice of over 6 years includes painting, sculpture, installation, and object art.

He has participated in number of international Art residencies and workshops in Bangladesh, Mauritius and his work has been exhibited in the Asian Art Biennale 2008 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and has received the Honorable Mention Award.
